Thank you very much for sharing this! Great
Scrolling through the site, I was curious about OUR old song,"Really Must Know".You made my day to see it listed on your site. We did re-record it in the early 90s ,Acapella, on CD. The singers from the time mentioned were,Carl Henzy,Tommy Laurie,Lee Francis, Mario Gramegna, and of course,Sean Vesely, former lead singer (80s-90s). We had regained a bit of success throughout the 90s doing clubdates, and events throughout the NY metropolitan area, and enjoyed a modicum of success with our last CD called Then and Now.
The last CD had some obscure or B side selections such as Danny and the Jr's " Sometimes" and "Island Of Love" as well as the old over recorded "At My Front Door" retitled by us," Crazy Little Mamma" I am thinking about re-releasing that last CD, as it still gets requested, and did enjoy air play on NY's WCBS-FM on the Don K Reid Doo Wop Shop, and B-103 on Long Island as well as Long Island's Oldies Station,,,1440 WNYG
Well, the guys are still kicking,,and time keeps ticking,,Thanks for reading this "Reflection".. Sean Vesely
found this while searching for music info.
Vesely - Sean R., 50, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2008. He was born in Nassau County, NY on March 21, 1957, the son of Joseph and Eileen Massmann Vesely. He was the owner of The Hot Rod Shop of North Carolina. He was the founder of the Long Island Roadsters and was the lead singer of the "Doo-Wop" group, The Reflections. He enjoyed being a radio disc jockey using the name of "Speedy" on the air, racing cars, flying planes. Sean was a renaissance man, who was loving, mechanically gifted and devoted to his family and friends. He is survived by his wife; Pamela Vesely of the home, two daughters; Christine Lynne Vesely and Pamela Eileen Vesely both of the home, his father; Joseph Vesely of Deerfield, Mass, his mother; Eileen Massmann of Merrick, NY, a brother; Liam Vesely of Sudbury, Mass, a sister; Nara Vesely of Merrick, NY and two grandchildren; Bianca and Nicholas. A local memorial mass will be held 1 PM March 1st at Cure of Ars Catholic Church in Merrick.
Dear Anonymous,
Thank you for posting announcement odf Sean's passing. He was a devoute perpetuator of Doo Wops music and advocate of simplier times and moral values of the 1950's.
Anyone interested in hearing some great music and hillarious quips from Sean, should visit hotrodworld.net and click on the 4 hours of radio tribute broadcast by Muzicradio. Hosted by Big Ed Newlens, the tribute includes personal, professional, and musical memories of a real 50's icon.
Much appreciation,
Tearful sister Nara
saw on rhof joyce harris who had song "no way out "was lisetd in dave marsh book greatest 1001 r&r singles it was #1001.i saw it on you tube,
Sorry but l find your list a very poor indicator of the music we love. far too many "white" groups and FAR too many Soul and Solo singers in the list. Good try though, but please don't call a lot of this Doo-Wop as it is Soul or pop.
regards peter.
Peter doesn't know what he's talking about it's called doo wop sound not music and what does black & white have to do with it. Solo or group it's the sound that we enjoy keep it up, thank-you willie
